TRP Advent Calendar 02 - Plum Dumplings
2
The second door of the Advent calendar is dedicated to a recipe. After all, you cannot spend the time before Christmas on an empty stomach.
The menu today features traditional plum dumplings. We wish you a lot of fun while preparing them!

Traditional plum dumplings (about 20 pieces)
Ingredients:
- Curd (17.6 oz)
- White flour (2 1/2 cups)
- Egg yolke (2)
- A pinch of salt
- Butter (5 oz)
And that's how it's done:
- Mix the ingredients and knead to a smooth dough.
- Form dumplings and put a plum in the middle.
- Leave to stand in boiling salted water for about 20 minutes.
- Optionally refine with hot butter and some cinnamon sugar. Done!

Good things do not always have to be complicated.
Especially in the time before Christmas, when we find ourselves under stress in the procurement of gifts, we long for something simple. So if you are looking for something uncomplicated and delicious at the same time, these plum dumplings are just the thing for you!
Such traditional and simple recipes were often brought to America by European settlers. There they were partly modified, as they found access to new fruits, which were not very popular in the Old World until then.
We wish you bon appétit!
